Heimvard is operated by KRAKN AS, organisation number 937 892 322, registered address Skjønhaugveien 13, 1940 Bjørkelangen, Norway. For correspondence on these Terms or the Service, contact heimvard-legal@krakn.no. For data-protection matters, contact heimvard-privacy@krakn.no. This disclosure is provided pursuant to the Norwegian E-commerce Act (ehandelsloven) §8 and Article 5 of EU Directive 2000/31/EC. References to "Heimvard", "we", "us", or "our" in these Terms refer to the operator named in this section.
By creating an account or using the Heimvard app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. The separate Privacy Policy explains how Heimvard handles personal data and is provided as a notice, not as a contract that you must accept. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the app.
Heimvard is an educational household-planning app. It generates personalised reminder schedules and general maintenance ideas based on the home profile you enter. The content is researched and compiled with the help of AI from common maintenance practices, not from official regulations, manufacturer manuals, or professional inspection.
Heimvard provides general household-planning guidance and educational reminders. The maintenance ideas and intervals shown in the app are researched and compiled with the help of AI from common practices — not from official regulations, manufacturer manuals, or professional inspection. Different homes, climates, and brands have different requirements that may override anything you see here.
You decide whether a task is suitable for you. Some tasks can damage property or appliances, void warranties, or carry a risk of injury or death — for example, working at height, on electrical or gas installations, on chimneys, or on roofs in cold or wet conditions. Stop if you are unsure. Use a qualified licensed professional for regulated work; in Norway that includes electrical work, gas work, and chimney/flue work.
Cost ranges and time estimates are approximate. Local regulations such as TEK17 may apply; the app does not provide TEK17 conformity assessments. Nothing in this Section limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under mandatory consumer law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, or personal injury caused by us.
Some tasks may include a button that opens a YouTube search results page using a task-related search query. This is an external search shortcut only. Heimvard does not choose, recommend, rank, review, approve, or endorse any specific YouTube video, channel, creator, instruction, product, method, or search result.
YouTube search results and videos are third-party content provided by YouTube and its users. Heimvard does not control, check, or moderate what YouTube returns, and results may change over time or include inaccurate, incomplete, unsafe, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate content. You are responsible for evaluating any third-party content before relying on it, and you should always follow manufacturer documentation, local laws and regulations, and advice from qualified licensed professionals where appropriate.
Heimvard offers a free tier and paid tiers (currently Home and Landlord as auto-renewing subscriptions, and Lifetime as a one-time purchase). Tier names, pricing, and availability are configured in Apple App Store Connect and Google Play Console and may vary by country and over time. The price displayed in the in-app paywall at the moment you confirm the purchase is the price you pay.
Billing. All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Heimvard never receives or stores your payment card or bank details. Your purchase is governed both by these Terms and by the Apple Media Services Terms or Google Play Terms of Service that apply to your store account.
Auto-renewal. Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. The current period remains active until its end date. Cancelling stops the next renewal.
How to cancel or change your plan. Use the "Cancel or change plan" button in Settings → Subscription. On iOS, this opens Apple's subscription-management screen for your Apple ID. On Android, the app gives the Google Play path for managing subscriptions: open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions. You can also reach the same subscription-management screens from the App Store or Google Play account settings directly.
If you cannot find the cancellation screen, if a store link does not work, or if you need help with cancellation, contact heimvard-legal@krakn.no. We will help you identify the correct cancellation route. Because App Store and Google Play purchases are administered through your store account, Apple or Google may require the cancellation step to be completed in that account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not shorten the paid period already started unless mandatory law or the store's refund rules say otherwise.
Lifetime tier. The Lifetime tier is a one-time purchase billed through your store account. It does not auto-renew. Access inside Heimvard is linked to the Heimvard account signed in when the purchase is first verified.
Account-bound access. Apple or Google remains responsible for the underlying store transaction. RevenueCat associates the verified store receipt with the identifier of the Heimvard account that made or first restored the purchase. Once associated, paid access does not move automatically to a different Heimvard account, even when both accounts are used with the same Apple or Google store account. If the store receipt is already linked elsewhere, Heimvard asks you to sign in to the original Heimvard account instead of transferring it silently.
Cross-device entitlements and recovery. An entitlement bought on one platform (for example, iOS) is recognised when you sign in on another platform (for example, Android) with the same Heimvard account. If you do not see a previous purchase, use the in-app Restore Purchases button while signed in to the Heimvard account that originally made the purchase. If that account is inaccessible or has been deleted, contact heimvard-support@krakn.no. We may ask for store receipt or order details before assisting with recovery. Recovery does not change Apple's or Google's refund, cancellation, or transaction rules.
Account deletion. Deleting a Heimvard account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Before deletion, Heimvard warns you about continuing store billing and provides a direct route to the applicable subscription-management screen. You may still delete the account immediately without cancelling. A newly created Heimvard account has a new account identifier and does not automatically inherit purchases linked to the deleted account. Contact us if you need help cancelling or recovering paid access.
Refunds and withdrawal requests. App Store and Google Play purchases are administered by Apple and Google under their respective refund and withdrawal processes (Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com; Google Play: support.google.com/googleplay). Heimvard cannot directly reverse a store charge. If you cannot use the store route, or need help exercising a consumer right, contact heimvard-legal@krakn.no and we will help identify the correct route. If a platform issues a refund, RevenueCat will revoke your entitlement and your tier will revert to free.
Norwegian consumer rights. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under mandatory Norwegian consumer law, including the Digital Services Act for consumers (digitalytelsesloven), the Consumer Purchases Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven), and the Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven). Heimvard's paid tiers provide access to a digital service. Norwegian consumers normally have 14 days from entering the agreement to withdraw from a monthly, annual, or Lifetime purchase. Starting to use paid features during that period does not by itself remove the right. If you expressly ask for the service to begin during the withdrawal period and later withdraw, mandatory law determines whether a proportionate amount is payable for service already supplied. The right is lost for a service only when it has been fully performed and the conditions in angrerettloven §22(c) are met. Lifetime changes the payment model, not the service classification.
Continued access. Continued access to paid features requires a valid receipt verified through RevenueCat. If receipt validation fails (for example, after a refund, chargeback, or expired subscription), the app will revert to the free tier on the next refresh.
When you obtain Heimvard through the Apple App Store, the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (the "Apple Standard EULA") also applies to your use of the App in addition to these Terms.
Acknowledgements regarding Apple. You acknowledge and agree that:
Order of precedence. In the event of a direct conflict between these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA on matters specific to the Apple App Store distribution channel — including the license to install and use the App binary, Apple's role as third-party beneficiary, and the allocation of warranty and product-liability obligations between you, Heimvard, and Apple — the Apple Standard EULA prevails. These Terms prevail on all other matters, including (without limitation) the Service we provide, your account, billing beyond the Apple App Store, our limitations of liability for the household-planning guidance described in Section 3, governing law, and dispute resolution. Nothing in this Section 5 limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have under Norwegian or EEA consumer law.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. Heimvard is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account information. You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account and use the Service.
You are solely responsible for all content you upload to Heimvard, including photos, receipts, property images, and any other materials. By uploading content, you represent that you have the right to do so and that the content does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights. Heimvard does not review, verify, or moderate uploaded content and makes no representations about its accuracy or appropriateness.
Content you upload is private to your account and to the people you explicitly invite as household members or tenants on a property. There is no public feed and no discovery surface. If a household member or tenant misuses shared access, you can remove them from the property at any time from Property Settings. To report abuse or content concerns, contact heimvard-legal@krakn.no; we will assess and respond.
You grant Heimvard a limited license to store and display your uploaded content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content.
The Suggest a Task feature lets you submit free-text proposals for maintenance tasks you feel are missing from the template library (a task name and optional category, description, and frequency). Unlike the photos, receipts, and notes covered in §7 — which stay private to your account and the people you invite — submissions made through Suggest a Task are sent to Heimvard so our team can review them and decide whether to incorporate the idea into a future version of the template library. Submissions are not published, shared with other users, or used as a public feed.
What to include. Please keep suggestions to a short description of the maintenance task itself. Do not include personal data about yourself or anyone else, account credentials, photos, financial information, or any of the categories listed in §9 (Prohibited Content). The same prohibited-content rules apply to suggestions as to any other content you submit through the Service.
License to act on suggestions. By submitting a suggestion, you grant Heimvard a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, adapt, and incorporate the idea, wording, and any feedback contained in your submission into the Heimvard template library and related materials, without obligation of attribution or compensation. You confirm that the submission is your own and does not infringe any third party's rights. We are not required to act on, respond to, or retain any particular suggestion.
How submissions are handled. Suggestions are stored alongside your other account data in our EU infrastructure (see Privacy Policy §4) and are linked to your account identifier so we can follow up if needed and apply abuse-prevention rate limits. See Privacy Policy §6.1 for the privacy details and Privacy Policy §12 for retention and deletion.
Some Heimvard features — most notably Contractor Contacts — let you store personal data of third parties such as the name, phone number, or email address of a tradesperson you engage for property maintenance. When you do this, the GDPR roles are as follows:
Your responsibilities as Controller. When you store personal data of third parties in Heimvard, you are responsible for:
Household exemption. If you use Heimvard purely for personal, household maintenance of your own home, GDPR's household exemption (Article 2(2)(c)) may mean GDPR does not apply to your storage of a tradesperson's contact details — comparable to saving a number in your phone's address book. Once you use Heimvard for a business or professional purpose (for example, the Landlord tier for managing rental properties), GDPR applies in full and the Controller / Processor framework above takes effect.
If a contractor or other third party contacts Heimvard directly to request access to, correction of, or deletion of data you have stored about them, we will refer them to you as the Controller and assist where appropriate.
To the extent we act as your Processor under this Section 8, the following terms apply pursuant to GDPR Article 28(3). These terms are incorporated into and form part of these Terms.
You must not upload, share, or otherwise submit content that is:
Heimvard reserves the right to terminate accounts that violate this policy without prior notice and without liability to you.
All app content, including but not limited to task templates, maintenance guides, interface design, graphics, and text, is the property of Heimvard and is protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without our express written permission.
We work to keep Heimvard available and working as described, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, free from errors, or compatible with every device or network. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, software updates, bug fixes, or factors outside our reasonable control — including network outages, transmission errors, or faults in your browser, operating system, or device. We are not liable for any consequences of the Service being unavailable or not functioning as you expected, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable mandatory law, Heimvard is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, including (without limitation) indirect financial losses, lost profits, lost savings, lost business opportunities, loss of data, or loss of goodwill.
Heimvard is also not liable for indirect personal injury, illness, property damage, or death resulting from tasks, ideas, links (including YouTube search shortcuts under §3.1), or estimates suggested by the Service. As described in §3 (Advisory Nature), Heimvard provides general educational household-planning guidance — not professional advice — and you decide whether a task is suitable for you and perform it at your own risk. The app surfaces extensive in-product warnings, including a recommendation to use a qualified licensed professional for regulated work.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in this Section limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under mandatory consumer law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, or direct personal injury or death caused by us.
We may change these Terms only where there is a valid reason — for example, legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, service maintenance, or feature changes. When a change is material, we require you to review and accept the updated Terms on next sign-in via the in-app re-consent prompt. The page header shows the current version date.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at heimvard-legal@krakn.no. If we do not resolve it, you can bring the dispute to the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet), which can handle the matter between you and Heimvard: forbrukerradet.no/klageguide. These Terms do not limit your right to bring a claim in the competent Norwegian courts.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway. Norwegian courts have exclusive jurisdiction, without limiting your mandatory consumer rights to bring proceedings under applicable law.
